Program Aide in Training (PAT)

A Program Aide in Training (PAT) is a Girl Scout who is learning to be a Program Aide (PA). She participates in the same programs as other campers while working to earn her Program Aide pin.

CAMP REGISTRATION

To join us as a PAT this year, please complete the GSHCDC Program Aide in Training Registration via CampDoc.

HOW TO BECOME A PA

The Cadette Program Aide pin is earned through the following steps:

  1. Earning a Leader in Action (LiA) award
  2. Completing Council-approved PA leadership course training
  3. Working directly with younger girls over six activity sessions

Applicants should complete Step 1 (the LiA award) before attending camp as a PAT, if possible. GSHCDC's Program Aide in Training program will allow girls to complete Steps 2 and 3, and earn the Cadette Program Aide pin at the end of the camp session.

LEADER IN ACTION (LiA) AWARD

Cadette girls can earn a Leader in Action (LiA) award by assisting a Brownie group/troop on any of their National Leadership Journeys. There are three (3) different LiA awards, each tied to a Journey.

To earn a LiA, girls will share their organizational skills, use one of their special talents, teach Brownies something important from their Journey, and reflect upon their own experience.

For more information about each LiA, network with the adult volunteers guiding Brownie groups in your Girl Scout community. Complete requirements can be found in their Brownie Leadership Journey adult guides.
