Adult SWAT Volunteers

 

Each SWAT job guarantees placement of ONE camper in one week of camp. SWAT volunteers receive a free camp patch but are not eligible for a camp rebate.

 

PLACEMENT

 

Positions are filled on a first-come, first-served basis. Volunteers will be notified by e-mail, confirming their placement or waitlist status, along with any further instructions. 

 
SWAT JOB DESCRIPTIONS
  • STAFF SNACK FOR OUTDOOR TRAINING: Assist coordinator with purchasing, preparing, serving, and clean-up of snack for Outdoor Training at camp in Fulton. (two positions)
  • SUPPLY ASSISTANCE FOR OUTDOOR TRAINING: Assist in filling craft supply orders at Outdoor Training at camp in Fulton. *This is a detail-oriented job. (one position)

  • WRAP-UP AND PACK-UP ON CAMP CLEAN-UP DAY: May include sorting supplies, restocking supplies, clean-up of camp equipment, packing/loading boxes, cleaning up grounds at camp. *Can be labor intensive. (three positions)

  • 6TH GRADE ACTIVITY SUPPORT: Assist with crafts and food from 6-10 pm on the Wednesday of camp week AND with breakfast set-up and clean-up from 7-10 am on the Thursday of camp week. At camp in Fulton. (three positions)
  • PA LEADER ASSISTANTS (two different positions):

    • ​Help prepare documentation of volunteer hours for PA girls. Must be available the Thurs. evening OR Fri. morning of camp week. *This job is suitable for someone with limited mobility. (one position)

    • Pick-up a (pre-ordered) cake, and set up cake and refreshments for celebration of PAs bridging to adults. Must be available the Fri. morning of camp week. (one position)

  • PROGRAM/CRAFT PREP/SWAPS: Make SWAPS for Headquarters and/or prepare theme-related program materials. The Director of Programs will provide the materials and directions for the SWAPS and crafts that you will be making. (four positions)

  • FLAGS: Buy fabric and sew unit flags. Sewing machine and basic sewing skills required. Flags must be completed one week before the camp session starts (or earlier). The Director of Programs will provide directions for all of the flags that are needed for camp. You will be reimbursed for the cost of the fabric. (one position)
