Benefits
Adult At-Camp Volunteers receive a number of benefits, including a free camp t-shirt and camp patch. See below for more information.
CAMPER PLACEMENT
Acceptance as an adult at-camp staff member (full-time or part-time) guarantees the placement for ALL of your camper(s)/PAT(s) for the camp week for which you volunteer.
TAGALONGS (TAGS) AND BOYS UNIT
Do you want to volunteer at camp but don't have child care for your younger kids? Don't fret! Toilet-trained children (ages 3-6) and young sons (ages 6-11) can come with you to camp! (See: TAGS and Boys)
LUNCH ORDER OPTION
Adult volunteers can order lunch on camp days, at a reasonable cost, using our Lunch Order Form. Meals will be prepared on-site by camp kitchen staff and PAs, and available for pick-up at lunchtime.
Orders and pre-payments must be submitted first thing in the morning, when signing in at the HQ Outpost, using the forms and envelopes available there.
Pre-payments (to cover multiple days) are encouraged, with any unused funds returned to the volunteer at the end of the week. But you can also pay for a day at a time.
**The 2026 lunch order form will be posted closer to camp.**
REBATE INFORMATION
All At-Camp Adult Volunteers who work at least 3 days at camp are eligible to receive a rebate once camp ends. In order to receive a rebate, volunteers must fill out an ONLINE rebate request form by the stated deadline. E-mail submissions will not be accepted.
Rebates will be calculated as follows:
- Volunteers who work all 5 days of camp are eligible to receive a 50% tuition rebate for their campers (Grades 1-6 and PAT).
- Volunteers who work fewer than 5 days will have there rebates prorated. They are eligible for a 40% rebate for 4 days of work, and a 30% rebate for 3 days of work.
- There will be a 10% deduction for each required camp training session, camp set-up day, and/or camp clean-up day that is missed. For example, if a full-time volunteer does not attend Outdoor Training, their rebate would change from 50% to 40%. If they also miss camp set-up day, it would change to 30%.
- Only tuition paid for Girl Scout campers (Grades 1-6 and PATs) is eligible for a rebate.
Rebates will be sent through CampDoc. Please make sure to fill out the online rebate request form clearly and completely.
The ORIGINAL form of payment (for the camp registration fee) must be saved to each camper's CampDoc profile in order to process the rebate. We cannot issue a refund to a different credit card or bank account. (If your original form of payment is later closed due to fraud, then we will issue the rebate by check.)
Alternately, adult volunteers may skip the rebate and keep the money with GSHCDC. These funds are appreciated and help support camp operations for 2027 and beyond.
