Campers are transported to camp via bus from various points in Howard County.
HCGSDC is run entirely by volunteers. The number of campers we can accept depends on the number of moms, dads, aunts, uncles, grandparents and siblings over age 18 willing to give their time as unit leaders, assistants and program staff. No experience necessary...we will train you! Staff benefits include advance placement of your camper and a camp fee rebate, free t-shirt and patch and an on-site program for younger siblings, three years and older. Come join the fun!
Early Registration for Adult Volunteers and their
February 1 - 28, 2014
March 5, 2014 - until full
We are making a change to our online registration
date, from March 1st to Wednesday, March 5th. We make this change to avoid conflict with those participating in the Columbia Mall Sleep In, and,
since this is the first time we are working with Council to conduct our registration online, we’d like the registration to fall on a business day.
Recommended Steps to prepare for Online Registration:
- visit www.gscm.org to become familiar with the website
- note your daughter's last Tetanus shot date
- located your daughter's GSA ID# in advance
- consider which week you want to attend
- decide what size t-shirt she will need
- campers, who are completing 5th grade this year, may attend the
6th Grade Sleepover at camp - discuss participation with your daughter
All campers of non-volunteers must ride the bus to camp. No car traffic on camp road in the mornings after 8:15AM - 9:30AM and in the afternoon from 2:15 until 4pm. For more Getting To and From
camp, go to the Transportation page.
